Sand injection calibration for acoustic sand detectors allows sand monitoring systems to output quantified sand rates. The output units are in grams per second. It allows clients to know the volume of sand being produced from their wells in real-time, remotely, and with zero manpower.

It requires a known quantity of sand to be injected into the flowlines at a variety of flow velocities or choke sizes. The response detected on the installed sand detectors is interpreted by an algorithm and stored in the systems memory permanently. SMS system is unique because it is portable, lightweight and has a smaller footprint.

After years of R&D and testing, we finally piloted this project for a major client in Turkmenistan. In this picture, our Lead Operations Engineer Mazlan Ramli is spotted at the site inspecting the four injection cylinders used in our pilot project.
